I have been reading this book for a while now. It's about people thinking there more better than some one else or they think that they are pefect. It's also talking about so what if you got a lousey pimple or aa big pointy nose. That's the way god made you and that you are not a mistake. The girl in my book's mom is obeast and so is her dad. She tells her self you will never indupt obeast like your fat family. 2 weeks later her dad calls her in the living room and tells her yea we dont want to be like this, but this is the way god made us and you are going to have to deal with it rether you like it or not. And after that she did start not to care that her family is obeast sha loves them nomatter what

A question I have about this book is... Why does Mary Fields have such a strong attitude about being so tough? because back when slavery was going on, most women were very nice and not so tough.
I found this book hard to follow when the chapters changed, and they changed characters. The boko gets you so involved with one character and then when you're really getting into the character, it changes on you.
