At the end of today, we will have met for the last time with our 3rd quarter literature circles to discuss literature books.
I would like for you to share your comments, concerns and questions about literature circles. Each year I have implemented literature circles a little differently.
What changes would you suggest I make for next year to improve this process? Any input you provide will help me to tweak the process of using literature circles as a tool for learning and sharing about books as well as for applying the reading strategies.

How can I get more students to be prepared for literature circles? How can I promote a thoughtful discussion between students if students do not come prepared to class? (ThinkMark Strategy boxes completed in folder and book in hand, ready to discuss)

What I like about literature circles is that you are in a group and get to disscues the book with other friends that like the same book you are reading.
My opinions about the book I read is that it was a wonderful book and I am glad I got to read it with other people who probbly liked it to.
Books I would add to literature circles is Beast of Noor,Magic Tree House, Harry Potter, and Artimis Foul.
i really didn't like the book as much as i thought i would.

I think that lit circles are a little boring.But besides that the part I did enjoy was find out things about my partners.
Loser isent a bad book it just gets boring like a rollercoaster its exciteing then its boring.
We are as a group.I think that the book Help was not that good.I would add Harry potter.

4:I would add to all of are groups is more meetings with out the teacher and talk about the book and we should be able to pick our own book
I enjoy lit. books because you can have a group and not get in trouble for it. My book was Joey Pigza lossess control. It was a very good book. Nightmare hour. I dont think you should change anything. I like the lit. circles just the way they are.H.H.

what i enjoyed in literature circles is how a book can be very interesting and when you work together in a group it helps you to understand it better.
My opinion on the book is that esperanza rising is similar to a movie rising teritories,the book is awesome.

I thank one thing that can be improved is that we need more to time to read in are books.One thing is enjoyed i that got to talk to are groups and get to know them.some of the books i would add to the literature group circle is Hatchet,and Spirit Bear.
What books would you add to the literature circle library?
The Twilight Saga and other vampire books. My suggestions are to give the reading groups a list of disscussion questions so they will always have something to talk about. Each person should have their own list so no one would ever say the same thing.
my favorite thing about literature circles was the book i got to read next year you should start with a child called it instead of a man named dave because it will let them read the series in order so they know what has happened in the previous books i yhought that a man named dave would have been better if i had the oppurtunity to read a child called it and the lost boy before reading it.

I think we should’ve had a shorter book to read and maybe a higher lexile. The book was really easy, but it was just too long.

I think kids would enjoy reading the Twilight series, which has 4 books; Twilight, New Moon, Breaking Dawn, & Eclipse.

Somethings that I enjoyed about lit. circles is that you get to talk with your group about your book and you can share some intersting things you thought were intersting.
My opinions on the books I have read with my lit. circle are that we had some very good books that were written by Lemony Snicket. He really thought out his books.
I would add to the lit. circle library are the Series of Unfortunate Events books. They are very interesting and well written.
One way you can get more students prepared for lit. circle is to have a specile folder in their trapper for their lit. books.
You can give the students who are prepared for lit. circle star dollars or gum.
Next year you should start lit. circles twords the beging of the year.

The thing that i like about lit. circles are that... most of the people in my group are awesome. The book that we are reading is called Bridge to Terabithia. The book is O.K. If i had a chance to read another book i would. The book i wish i could of read was "A Man Named Dave". Thats the book im reading for independent reading. The book would be better if our whole group was reading it cause we could tak about it and discuss it. The books i would add to the lit. circle library is "holes" by Louis Sachar He is one of my favorite authors. My other one is Barbara Park. To make people not forget there lit.books and folders you should give them a reward if every meeting they have there stuff with them. You should give them gum if they remember there stuff when they come up to group meeting. I think that is a good idea. And if they dont do there think marks than have plan times ready for them. I think if they have atleast one done they dont need a plan time. Just tell them to do the other one for homework. If they dont have there folder than they get a plantime.

I think that you should improve literature circles by improving the length of them. Like, starting in the middle of the year and continuing them through the rest of the year.
I enjoy the books other than the classroom library's books.
Our group read A Series. I think that we should not read anymore of these books. They are getting BORING! because, I know what is going to happen in all of the books.
There should be the Twilight series in literature circles! Twilight is the BEST book series EVER!
You can make literature circles something to look forward to by making them more fun.
Have the kids get plan times every time they don’t bring they're supplies. Just like you’re doing now. =]

Some thing I think you should do to improve lit circles is you can make them a little more exciting and less boring, like play some kind of game where when you finsh the book you and your partners tell when the event happened.

Something i think you should do to improve is make the readeers take turns asking each other questions about the book and why they think the author wrote the book.
Have the group if there is a group of 4 then put two together and have them discuss the book then have the other 2 people telk about what they think about the book.After those two partners have shared there thoughts talk to the teacher and see if they should get another book.
The thing i enjoyed when we came to lit circles was the fact that we got to hear eachothers ideas and think marks.
